Administration Revises and Updates Rules for Charter School Renewal

Three-tiered system part of the changes, as well as fewer reviews for top-performing charters

The Christie administration has quietly revised its protocol for renewing existing charter schools, easing back on the review of some schools while tightening the criteria it uses to evaluate all of the schools.
The administration announced the changes to the “performance standards” at the start of the academic year. They include a new three-tier rating system, rather than the sorting schools into two groups according to whether or not they meet the standards.
The new tier is for those that “partially meet” the performance standards, an additional kind of probationary status.
Further, the administration narrowed the criteria for evaluating schools, from seven areas to five: education program and capacity; school culture and climate; board Administration Revises and Updates Rules for Charter School Renewal - NJ Spotlight:

39,000 feet above the ground, the chants still ring in my ear:
What do we want? JUSTICE!
When do we want it? NOW!
What do we want? JUSTICE!
When do we want it? NOW!
We hit a rhythm right around here:
If we don’t get it? SHUT IT DOWN!
If we don’t get it? SHUT IT DOWN!
If. We. Don’t. Get. It? SHUT! IT! DOWN!
Indeed, with more than a dozen social justice advocacy groups from across the country co-hosting an event with the American Federation of Teachers in New Orleans, LA, one might have expected a palpable ferment take over the room. The AFT’s Racial and Social Justice Conference, with its 600+ attendees, felt like a direct response to the question of whether any teachers union would respond to the consternation in our streets and our classrooms. Parent groups, community activists, union leadership, LGBTQ collectives, prison reform groups, and advocacy institutions of all ages, and many cultural backgrounds immediately charged with the task of justice, including an opening action and rally in front of NOLA’s city hall.
This felt like the perfect space for us to challenge the inadequate resolutions that have beset those fighting for a better public education.

The public education blueprint for many of us for years has encompassed these items: stop the privatization and charterization of public schools, decrease (if not eliminate) the amount of

DFER Founder and Major Ed Deformer Joe Williams' Wife, a TFA and Kippster, is DOE Senior Director, Teaching Recuitment and Quality

Anne Martin Williams, who is DOE Senior Director, Teaching Recruitment and Quality, is married to Joe Williams founder of DFER who is now working for a new organization out to privatize our schools called theWalton Education Coalition?  She is also  a former TFA-er and KIPPster.
How bad is it getting for our "friends" at the de Blasio/Farinia DOE, that the very people who are trying to destroy the NYC public school system and teacher unions, have infiltrated so far into the fabric of our school system? Are there any worse deformers than slime balls like Joe Williams? There are always some delicious rumors floating around about William's "connections" to other major deformers. So how nice that that his wife runs the DOE department of teacher recruitment and quality.

And my goodness, as all well-behaved TFAers, Williams taught for 2 years in NYC schools: -- teacher: James Lick Middle School: 2003 – 2005 (2 years) - in San Francisco.

Of course she was appointed under Bloomberg:

And lookee here: She got married to Williams in October 2011.

The DOE is a factory for well-connected deformers and their families.

Here is a rule: major ed deformers like Williams marry other ed deformers.

So we have a head of teacher recruitment who is a 5th columnist - Wiki Def:  A fifth column is any group of people who undermine a larger group—such as a nation or a besieged city—from within, usually in favor of an enemy group or nation.

Do ya think TFA has an in? The DOE is loaded with 5th column people.
