Lester Long and Bronx Classical Charter School To Invade PS 154

We here at SBSB pride ourselves in having integrity and honor. We hope and pray that those of the upper echelon of the NYC DOE will look to SBSB and see what we stand for and hope those people say, "Hey, let's be like SBSB." But we know it will never happen.

With that being said, we would like to correct ourselves for erroneously reporting on February 2, 2013that Bronx Community Charter will be co-locating at PS 154 come next September. We are vetting our source as of this posting to see if the information was just a mistake or was deliberate misinformation. While we do not wish to see a school be co-located in 154, we were somewhat glad that BxC was somewhat

From CE White in Alabama:

As you may know, Alabama has two identical bills to repeal Common Core. House Bill 254 and Senate Bill 190. There is a public hearing on Wednesday, February 27th at 3pm at the State House. I feel we have the votes for this to pass in the Senate, but the House is dealing

The sniping has begun, apparently, to which I must personally respond.
Unschooling/homeschooling advocate, and employee of the NYDOE (could that be argued as the belly of the beast?), is going after us here At the Chalk Face because I had the temerity to suggest that folks who have taught might have more to say about their profession than someone observing from the outside. Here’s the post right here.  I don’t think it is at all unreasonable to assume that a teacher educator should be trusted to correct misconceptions about teacher education. Or, that a teacher can correct misconceptions about work in the classroom. I hold policymakers and all education commentators to the same standard.
[Seriously, I'd like to know when a student ever becomes less infallible. Can someone please tell me that? When

Jersey Jazzman: Greedy, Overpaid NJ Teachers: Greedy, Overpaid NJ Teachers by Duke *And it's pretty damn ugly right now.* Remember when Chris Christie used to run up and down New Jersey complaining about "*... the teachers union demanding raises at 4 to 5 times the rate of inflation...*"? Remember when I was one of the few places you couldgo to regularly find out this was absolutely ridiculous? Remember when I repeatedly wrote that the notion of "overpaid teachers" with "gold-plated benefits" was transparently idiotic? Good times... So, how is the allegedly greedy, overpaid teac... more »
