The women greet one another like lifelong friends who are mid-conversation. Armed with a wealth of up-to-date personal information about the others, they inquire about a sick daughter or recent trip.

For a few of these women, however, this afternoon at Debra Rutt's Bergen County home is their first face-to-face meeting. They had not been speaking earlier in the day, either, just reading each other's blogs.
Lisa Pisano, Rita Cheng, Mira Park, Sarah Walton and Rutt are North Jersey mom bloggers — mothers who have websites where they write about their family life and anything else that interests them, review products, events and places like museums or playgrounds. They have made a profession around parenting, finding a way to monetize their motherhood and become businesswomen and brands. They strive to serve other parents not only by writing about relatable parenting experiences in a voice that speaks to their community of readers, but by passing along information other parents can use.
