Let the enslavement of teachers begin, and where better to start then in N. Carolina ?  North Carolina governor Pat McCrory, a Republican, signed a budget bill Friday that eliminated teacher tenure, did away with automatic pay increases that teachers receive for earning a master’s degree, and froze teacher salaries for the fifth time in six years.
These slavery tactics are now headed to a state near you.  Are you ready teachers ?  Ready for the new era of slavery ?
Of course the N. Carolina teachers wrote their legislators and demonstrated at the Capitol; all protest methods with about as much success as fighting a grizzly bear with a fly swatter.
I know teachers have courage, because most teachers would be willing to stop a bullet to insure the safety of their students. Why then do the same people refuse to do what’s necessary to prevent their own enslavement ?  The N.E.A., the A.F.T., and all teacher unions should organize a nationwide strike to begin this fall, and last until such legislation is revoked and teacher rights are guaranteed.
