Commission votes to revoke City College of San Francisco accreditation | EdSource Today:

Share on printCity College of San Francisco should lose its accreditation in one year because of an inability to address a series of financial and mismanagement breaches, the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges announced Wednesday.
The commission’s vote calls for the college’s accreditation to be revoked July 31, 2014. The decision, however, is not yet final, the commission said. The campus can request a review of the ruling by July 31; if the commission upholds the termination decision after a review, the campus can then appeal the decision. The campus remains on “show cause” status in the interim, the commission said.
City College would be the largest college to date to lose accreditation. The campus, serving about 90,000 students, is the largest community college in the state.
