RiSE Library Announcement

Announcement regarding the closure of the Resources in Special Education Library.




The California Department of Education, Special Education Division, announces the Resources in Special Education (RiSE) Library will close effective July 1, 2013.
The Parents Helping Parents (PHP) Library has managed the RiSE library collection since the late 1990’s through a contract with California Services for Technical Assistance and Training (CalSTAT). Now PHP will assume and manage the collection. The CDE is combining resources for families of students with special education needs while simplifying the process of accessing online and hard copy materials. The library makes available documents that offer research-proven strategies and information recommended by educational stakeholders.
Residents of California can continue to check out these materials free of charge through the PHP Library Web site External link opens in new window or tab. , e-mail, phone, U.S. mail, fax, or by visiting the library in person. In addition, the PHP Library has a new iTECH Center, providing the latest technology available to utilize trainings, Webinars, Assistive Technologies, and E-packets. The PHP Library is located in San Jose, at a parent training and information center.
