The fight continues for Chicago’s schools. Protest on the 5th floor. Then arrests. We’ll be back.

The fight for Chicago’s public schools is now fully under way.
Stage one was the victory of the Chicago Teachers Union contract fight.
Stage two was getting the elected school board advisory referendum to be voted on next Tuesday in over 300 of the city’s precincts in spite of the mayor’s attempt to keep it off the ballot entirely.
It will pass.
Stage three is the decade old fight to stop school closings. But that fight in now intensified as the Mayor has targeted 100 school closings. At first the list of targeted schools was to be released December 1. But after the firing of CPS CEO JC Brizard and the hiring of Barbara Byrd-Bennett as his replacement, the list may not
