Thoughts On The Strike Notice

Two notes from Karen Lewis's press conference following the 10-day notice.

1. It's brilliant. It's both a concise summary of what's going on in the negotiations and of the larger picture of what's going on in the nation. This isn't some slick eduhucktster with a PowerPoint--- this is a chemistry teacher, laying out exactly what is happening, why it's happening, and how it all fits into the bigger picture.

2. The narrative of disruption that's going on the press is bizarre when you think about all of the neighborhood schools that have been closed, and that are in the pipeline to be closed as a matter of policy. Disruption is the policy of CPS.

      Disruption can either be visible or invisible, depending on what your agenda is, evidently.
