School executive fired for cheating on tests receives $245,000 settlement
The Los Angeles Times learned on Friday that a Los Angeles charter school executive who filed a wrongful termination suit won $245,000 in a settlement.
The settlement was reached in April and has a confidentiality clause. It was reached between the board of Crescendo charter schools and its founder and former chief executive John Allen.
Allen was terminated from his job after allegations surfaced that he ordered school principals to have teachers review the 2010 standardized tests in order to achieve higher scores. Before tests were to be given in May, a few teachers went to the Los Angeles Unified School District
