The in box. Richard Ingram in Naperville.

From a reader who attended the TRS meeting with TRS Executive Director Richard Ingram in Naperville last week.
I attended the Naperville TRS Town Hall meeting Thursday afternoon.
It was “troubling.”
Terrible location for a meeting. Terrible sound system. No provision for a Mic for questions — so you relied on Ingram’s re-statement as your guide. There was no chance at a follow up.  In my opinion – Ingram answered very few but the technical questions in a straight forward manner. He ducked and weaved and tried to use humor. His jokes are getting old. No one was laughing. There were maybe 600-700 teachers. Many left disgruntled and unhappy with the appalling communication logistics.
Once again like  1000 previous times in my 35 year career in teaching….teachers were treated shabbily and like second class citizens.  Would an important  meeting of  any other profession,
