Constructivist theory, the base for Vygostky's and Piaget's work is being seriously overlooked with standards-based reform efforts including present day Common Core. Now, I am in no way an expert on neural plasticity, but it sure sounds like the proof for Constructivist Theory to me. Theorists and experts have been left out of this conversation. Read the biographies of major reformers, including Tucker, Duncan and Spelling. Reform efforts are being rushed to pass to avoid meaningful conversations.
