LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles school board will vote on a proposal for a major shake-up at low-performing Huntington Park High School.

At least half the teachers would be replaced at the school by July as part of a turnaround plan. Last year, only 5 percent of the Huntington Park students tested as proficient or better in math and 24 percent were proficient or better in English.

Huntington Park High School has a 26 percent dropout rate.

The Los Angeles Unified School District board is expected to vote on the plan Tuesday.
