CTA Members, Parents March to Extend Taxes, Block Cuts

(SACRAMENTO, Ca.) Hundreds of educators and parents rallied at the state Capitol Tuesday morning to urge lawmakers to pass a tax extension that will prevent another $12.5 billion in program cuts, including another $4.1 billion in cuts to public schools and colleges.

The educators and parents have been pushing for more funding for schools during a week-long slate of concerted activities designing to publicize the plight of the state’s more than six million children and more than 325,000 educators.
