Teachers, Parents demand input, less business-like approach from CPS

Many spoke, but a consistent message emerged: We want a say in the next leader of Chicago Public Schools so an educator will be selected over another business-minded boss selected by the mayor.
Fiery rhetoric echoed through the fifth floor of City Hall Thursday as representatives from more than a half-dozen community groups demanded a change in the direction of Chicago Public Schools in the wake of the announcement that Ron Huberman would step down as CPS head on Nov. 29.
